这里“似晚秋”的“似”字，写出了诗人对夏日风雨有一种深秋萧瑟的感受。而下句紧接着写诗人归宿的清幽环境，呈现出山寺阗寂的境界。

三四句写的是远景。由于云气弥漫，看不见重峦叠嶂的俊俏秀美的面貌，但是可以听到山水暴涨，万壑淙鸣的声响，这里静中有动，把群山起伏的气势写的流动有致，使人有如临其境，如闻其声之感。

这两句是从顾恺之“千岩竞秀，万壑争流”语化来。五六句由写景转入抒情。

诗人卧宿寺院，几声清脆的晨钟声把它从睡梦中惊醒。“空怅惘”，即写诗人思想的美梦被钟声惊破而感到惆怅，又是写醒后盼望护缉篙垦蕻旧戈驯恭沫不到家书的失望意绪。

“竟沉浮”，是说没有料到传书的人竟会把书信遗失，这是用殷洪乔不肯为人传书信的典故。《世说新语》载，殷洪乔为豫章太守，临赴任，京都人都托他代书信百多封，他悉投于江，并祝曰：“沉者自沉，浮者自浮，殷洪乔不能作致书邮。”

末两句“面如田字非吾相，莫羡班超封列侯。”诗人用这两个典故，直抒自己流落异乡而抱负不得施展的无限感慨。

“面如田字”是说脸型方正如田，在古代认为又富贵之相。这是《南齐书》中《李安民传》的故事，“面如田字，封侯状也”。

第二个典故用班超封侯事。诗人在这里把两个故事连缀在一起，说自己没有封侯的形相，当然不是飞黄腾达的材料，也不羡慕这种显贵的官位。

这是诗人“闻将相骤贵者”的激愤之语，也是在国事危难动荡之际，对那些做享富贵的将相表示不满，其中流露出伤时忧国的深沉情思。这与方回在批注中所谓“亦老杜秦蜀湖湘之意”是吻合的。

这首诗，以景起，以情结，写景开阔，抒情细腻，构成一副情景交融的生动画面。[1]作者简介吕本中（1084-1145），原名大中，字居仁，世称东莱先生，寿州（安徽寿县）人。

初授承务郎。1124年（宋徽宗宣和六年），为枢密院编修官。

后迁职方员外郎。1136年（宋高宗绍兴六年），召赐进士出身，历官中书舍人、权直学士院。

因忤秦桧罢官。江西诗派著名诗人。

其诗颇受黄庭坚、陈师道影响，又学李白、苏轼，继承和发展了江西诗派的风格，诗风明畅灵活。其词以婉丽见长。

有悲慨时事、渴望收复中原故土的词作。感情浓郁，语意深沉。

有《东莱诗集》、《紫微诗话》、《江西诗社宗派图》。后人辑有《紫微词》。
